In addition to Amy’s daily early morning, morning, afternoon, and evening sessions, the following faculty will also be offering their wisdom and warmth.


Maria KaliMa, RN, MS, e-RYT 500, Functional Yoga Therapist. 
Maria
KaliMa, developer of Functional Yoga Therapy, is an Ayurvedic Practitioner, Faculty for Integrative Yoga Therapy, a Certified Fitness Trainer, and a Registered Nurse with a background in Women's Health and Physical Rehabilitation. She leads Functional Yoga Therapy trainings in Tucson; at Kripalu in Lenox, MA & Pura Vida. Maria teaches anatomy and physiology and anatomy of movement for yoga teacher training programs, as well as advanced therapeutic yoga concepts. She was intrumental in the creation of a yoga therapeutics department at Canyon Ranch. Maria teaches at several Tucson studios, has a private yoga therapy and ayurvedia practice and is also an invited guest instructor for numerous yoga conferences and gatherings. Her hobbies are pottery, bike riding and knitting. 

During the program, Maria will lead a session on, Yoga Psychology for the Ayurvedic Doshas, an insightful and experiential learning format, utilizing self assessment, mudras, mantra and movement to explore the qualities and imbalances of each dosha. Through this exploration we will create our individual roadmaps of self-discovery to promote our doshic balancing. Maria will also be giving Ayurvedic Consultations.

 


JJ Lee, M. Ed.

JJ Lee, M. Ed. J Lee, M. Ed. is best known for her work as a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist and teacher at her studio, Body & Soul Fitness Training in Reno, Nevada, and as a presenter at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health.  She is also certified as a personal trainer, nutrition educator, Kripalu Self-Empowerment Facilitator, and Reiki practitioner.  A faculty member at Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, JJ regularly tours the United States teaching yoga therapy workshops and promoting her yoga CD Coffee Breaks: Perfect Yoga for an Imperfect World. www.TotalBodyAndSoul.com

JJ will be offering a workshop and private PRYT sessions.  Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy is a transformational bodywork modality that uses reflective dialogue and supported postures to work with the emotional as well as the physical body.


Joan Ruvinsky, E-RYT 500 In 1989, after 13 years of attempts at path-finding, Joan Ruvinsky, E-RYT 500  met Jean Klein (http://www.nonduality.com/klein.htm), who, having never taken himself to be a teacher, eliminated the need to be a student, to have a path, a method or a goal. At home in these non-dual wisdom teachings, Joan shares body-sensing yoga, conversation and presence at her center Pathless Yoga- La voie sans voie in Montreal and at retreats and workshops in other states and provinces. She has the regular approbations from Integral Yoga, Integrative Yoga Therapy, Yoga Alliance RYT500 and iRest Yoga Nidra, leads seminars on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, and is on the Council of Stewards of the Center of Timeless Being.

Joan will be offering practice in body sensing, yoga nidra, chanting, and meditation.  She also offers individual nondual counseling sessions.  Here is how Joan describes her work:  In both group and in individual sessions, we listen together to what is arising from the larger perspective of pure awareness. The practices of pranayama, kriya, body-sensing and chanting become simply a pretext to refer us back to their source.

Rose Kress

Rose Kress, RYT 500, LFYP~2,  Began practicing yoga over 15 years ago and has been teaching since 2004. In that time she has focused on the therapeutic aspects of yoga - for the body, mind and soul. Rose teaches class and workshops throughout the Tucson area and has been blessed to teach classes at The Crossings in Austin, TX, at Kripalu in Lenox, MA and at the Flagstaff Yoga Festival and Bisbee Yoga Expo under the guidance of her teacher, Amy Weintraub. Rose has also studied with Rama Jyoti Vernon and has taken the Funtional Yoga Therapy Training with Maria KaliMa. Rose is the Program Manager of the LifeForce Yoga Healing Institute and travels with Amy to assist her in LifeForce Yoga Practitioner Trainings.

Rose will be supporting and assisting throughout the training, leading a marketing session with a private sessions demonstration, early morning yoga practices, as well as early morning Pranayama, Meditation and Mantra. You can visit her website www.yoginirose.com.


 

Caren Strait, RYT 500, LFYP~2, Certified Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer, Reiki Practitioner, and Sound Body Yoga Therapist. She has been in the fitness business since 1987, and has taught yoga since 2003. Caren completed her 200 hour training through Yoga for Real People in Dayton Ohio , and her 500 hour teacher’s training at All About Yoga in Las Vegas . She took special training in LifeForce® Yoga Practitioner Training, Level One and Two with Master Teacher Amy Weintraub. She enjoys teaching all levels of Hatha Yoga, her style is a unique mix of the Kripalu and Iyengar styles. Caren specializes in teaching those who have physical challenges, in group and private settings. Caren lead instructor training and continuing education workshops for group fitness instructors and personal trainers for many years, and now educates yoga teachers. She loves yoga, and feels it is constantly teaching her to be a better person and a more compassionate teacher.
 
Caren will be supporting and assisting throughout the training, assisting the marketing session, and leading early morning yoga practices.
 

 
Hannah Caratti, M.A., E-RYT 500, has offered flute music and led chanting for meditation groups and retreats since 1978.  She has taught yoga for over 20 years, with a background in Iyengar, Sivananda and Synergy yoga techniques.  Currently, Hannah teaches yoga and meditation classes, and workshops in Northern California, and offers music for Richard Miller's Meditation Retreat each May.  Her music CDs, yoga DVD, and the book "Yoga in America" are available at www.yogahealingarts.net

Gita (Jill Fendelman)

Gita ( Jill Fendelman) has over 30 years experience teaching Yoga at schools and universities, corporations, health clubs, spas, spiritual retreat centers and in private homes.
